November Gratitude: Year 2/Week 1

Listening now…

It’s time for my November Gratitude weekly posts again! (Our second year doing this as the title says!) I don’t know how it’s quite this time already, but it is.

I didn’t realize until working on this post that November is actually National Gratitude month! I just like to think more about gratitude this month as we come up on Thanksgiving.

I can’t believe we are coming up on the holidays, but I am also so excited! It is the best part of the year (besides summer) October-January when we have a string of holidays to look forward to.

This week I’m Grateful for….

Celebrations of love.

We were blessed enough to celebrate a wedding this weekend for Frankie’s very close first cousin. I am always grateful to see others celebrate their love and felt honored to be a part of it!

New shows coming back.

This one might seem silly (or not to some of you?!) but this fall has been amazing for shows coming back- Stranger Things and Shameless came back today!! I’m only on episode 4 of Stranger Things so no spoilers…. =P (Not to mention This is Us which has been amazing.)

And I just found out The Crown is coming back to Netflix this December 8th!

A change of seasons.

It got dark by 5 today… I definitely struggle with winter but still appreciate the change in seasons and the part of winter that brings being inside and cozy, and letting your introvert flag really fly.   And by that, I mean being a bit of a hermit.  Life slows down a bit more, and I am looking forward to that.

How well Molly has adjusted with us.

These 2 are best friends now.

You go into a rescue knowing it is not going to be easy. Your rescue brings with them baggage of trauma that has to be worked through and kinks to figure out. It is especially hard when you already have 2 other dogs to think about and get all all acquainted. Especially if one of those dogs (Daisy I’m looking at you) is already extremely high strung and not friendly with other dogs.

That being said, we are so blessed at how well this has turned out for all of us. Molly can’t go anywhere without following Daisy around and she basically idolizes her, it’s so cute. The two of them are now BFF and it’s crazy to even think of a time when Molly wasn’t in our family.

big three

For anyone that watches This is Us, my mom and I joke that the girls are “The Big Three.” Especially since Molly is adopted like Randall…lol.

A job that lets me bring my talents forward.

I am truly lucky to have my job- I have an amazingly supportive boss and coworkers and it is extremely flexible. My boss also lets me attend school and work my hours around that. In addition, they let me test out my Graphic Design skills on a fundraiser logo! The logo will be featured on photos that will be taken at a fundraiser we have this week and I was really honored they thought of me and felt confident in putting me on this task. I had so much fun doing it, too!

What are you grateful for this first week of November?

  1. Omg the big three!!!! Love this. Also how sweet that Molly follows Daisy around ❤ I’m so glad to hear she’s settling in so well and adjusting to her new and amazing life. Happy dog endings make me so happy:) my brother and his gf just rescued a pup this week and are waiting to take her home from the shelter! I’m so excited to meet her and welcome her to the family 🙂

I feel a little introverted this time of year, too, but it’s difficult with the holidays and all the reasons to be out and about. May we find our balance this season 🙂

Also I haven’t watched Stranger Ygings yet…still working my way through Game of Thrones, but it’s next!! Also love the pics of you guys at the wedding..too cute!

  3. What a wonderful gratitude post. I’m grateful for my parents, having grown up with a wonderful grandmother in my life, for my incredible husband and my two beautiful daughters. That’s just the tip of the gratitude iceberg! I feel so blessed in every way possible. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  4. I am grateful for cooler weather here in sunny Tucson. I am also grateful that I don’t have to have surgery after breaking my ankle two weeks ago, and that it wasn’t worse than it was.
